Battle Droid model done!

Finished the Battle droid model! I used acrylics...was tough to get the color right but I think it turned out pretty good!

My old airbrush was a real challenge because it works sometimes..not others. Took several coats of paint. I then applied and washed off some burnt sienna brown and some black here and there to weather it. The last think I did was use a metallic sharpie to add scratched and wear to the edges.

I am pretty happy with the results. Was fun to make a model again. I didn't bother with the STAP he rides on..I wanted him to be standing. SHame he doesnt come with a blaster tho.

The first pic was with no flash..the second pic I used a flash.

Awesome Dude!!!
I was checking this out this morning.
That is something I can not do, I shake and don't have the patients.
You did the silver weathering?
You've got that down pat!!!
I wonder if a fullsize could be done from that model?

Thanks man. Weathering is fun!

To be honest I usually use a dry brush.but for the precision on this guy I used a metallic Sharpie!

Very impressive Jason!!!
That paint job is so realistic. Out of curiosity, how tall is that model? I have lots of polystyrene and plenty of ideas ;)

Thanks man!!

I love weathering. Such a difference from having something painted the color you want..then by weathering it almost magically becomes real!

It's about 12" tall. It came with a STAP (the thing they ride) and a base the STAP fits into, but I wanted to have it standing up.

Haha just keep watching the Don Bies video. I haven't had the courage to weather my R2 yet.
