Middle Earth Map, R2 Feet progress, Fett Chest lights,,,,and Maul saber

Wow...busy sounding blog entry!

I finished the Middle Earth Map Frame and hung it. Next to it is a cool Ikea kid's lamp that flickers like a real torch. Totally adds to the area!!

I have been SLOWLY working on R2's feet. They SHOULD fit the drive assemblies fromt he scooters. I plan to have the battery packs (oval things beside the feet) attach with velcro. That way I can pull them off to access the bolt that will fasten the leg to the feet. I won't need it to pivot since my R2 is fixed in the 3 legged position. They are just bring glued together now. They will need bondo, sanding, and all the detail pieces added.

This last pic shows my Boba Fett (95% done) with his chest lights in place. Also the Darth Maul lightsaber is hanging above. That was a Christmas present. :)

Han Painted

Here it is after painting. It was a challenge...at fist it looked really fake, but after some reddened cheeks and various highlights it started looking a lot better.

Still need some eyelashes...

A Clone of my Own

I was working on my Fett Armor (attaching it to the vest). My Fett is a mannequin so this was the first and likely last time I will actually be wearing it so I had to throw on the Home Depot lid and get a pic. I wanted a pic of it with our *fairly* new baby (he's 9 weeks).

Jetpack assembled and painted

Off and on I managed to assemble the jetack and paint it over the past couple weeks. I just finished drybrushing and weathering it.

I still have the rockets at the bottom sides to assemble, then some kind of harness..that scares me.

I also finished my Halloween costume. MAN its gonna be uncomfortable!!!!!

Fett's Gaunlets and a DOOR!!!!

Basement....ALMOST done! Pics hung!

I finished laying the carpet tiles in the basement..weird corners and angles. I then finished the trim.

It was a challenge to find room for my autographed pics, and action figures. I ended up doubling them up so 2 pics to 1 frame. My wife came up with the arrangement of the pics with the time magazine and action figures in the center.

I then hung a bunch of action figures behind the door. I didnt want it to seem too cluttered, but I DID want to display them. This wasy they are behind the door..so if you close the door..there they are..and with the door open you dont even see them. I also hung my Force FX lightsabers over my candy counter.

Fett's Toe Spikes and Starting of my Haloween Costume

I finished off Fett's boots with the toe spikes. Made from aluminum and wood dowels painted.

Here is the start of my haloween costume. I will wear the AT-St body (needs some more work done to it), and the Helmet with goggles to look like the AT-St driver. My head will stick out of the hatch and my arms will be covered with grey socks and be the side guns. I havent quite sorted out the legs yet, but I will for sure have big walker feet.

Fett Wearing Boots and new Side Pouches

I added Fett's Boots (now grey and black not green and grey as they came).

This pic shows how I made his "fett". I took old shoes and sprayed spray insulation into them and the PVC ankle.

And here he is with his new pouches, girth belt, and boots!

Fett with Hands and Indy Whip & Bag added

Just posting some stuff I hadn't posted before our baby arrived.

I made Fetts Gloves from grey work gloves, and used white fabric paint for the white parts.

I also received Indy's whip and the bag he carries. Makes the display look a little more complete!

Ammo Belt and Wookie Braids

Diversions

I have a few props for Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and the Goonies (and am expecting a few more when they are complete that I ordered) so I thought I'd make a few paper props to accompany them.

The Indiana Jones stuff might be too much..but we'll see. I have a Golden Idol and Base on order for it (you can see the map that lead him to it). The map I just printed out, burnt the edges and dabbed with a tea bag. I am very happy with the results. I got the Staff of Ra Headpiece from a buddy..just gotta clean it up and paint it.

For Jurassic Park stuff I'm gonna modify the barbasol can to reveal the dino embryos hidden inside. For now it's just a can. I also have a chunk of amber with a "fossilized" mosquito on order. I've seen a buddy's..they look GREAT!

Lastly my Goonies collection. Copperbone Key (needs paint), and a dubloon (needs paint), Chester Copperpot's wallet, and a Map. The map needs to be traced by hand and weathered. Should look cool when done!

OK minor Update

Just thought I'd post a few pics of my minor updates.

Here is the last bit of drywall I just got finished hanging. I had to frame a wall under the starirs (around the Defender Arcade). I will be putting is a drop ceiling at the point where the drywall stops. It just seemed far too difficult to frame around the ducting and wires and pipes in that area.

Here is my Boba Fett. I have made a couple hands from coathangers (will fill out with foam when I get gloves). Also his cod (groin armor) is done, and the Rangefinder is on the top of the arm on his head.

Here is the Rangefinder in the 'down' position.

Here is his back armor. I made it from thin aluminum.

Last but not least here is my Darth Vader with his newly signed shoulder armor signed by David Prowse!!!

Update

Not much to report right now..just wanna post so people dont think I have forgotten.

I was away in Texas to a convention with Star Wars celebrities, and Alan Tudyk from Firefly/Serenity. I got to meet lots of them and got pics with them.

Aside from that nothing to report. Gonna be an extremely busy few weeks..so I don't think I'll have anything to show...I have a LOT going on in my real life at the moment...

Keep checking..when I get a chance to do anything I will post it.

Basement trim, New Autographs & Fett Cod

In this pic you can see some of the baseboards I out in on the weekend. You can also see Boba Fett's Cod Piece that is just primed grey right now. I't been 3 coats of bondo so far....still needs some detail.

Here is a little more trim and the wood I put on the ledge for shelves.

A buddy in Flrida just sent me a few new personalized autographs from Star Wars Weekends at Disney. THANKS AARON!

I also got the Ewok Tunic signed. Hard to make it out in the picture. It says, "For Jason, Yub Yub, Warwick Davis, Wicket). COOL!
